– Provide personal care and support to individuals in their own homes or in a care facility
– Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
– Help with meal preparation and feeding
– Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals
– Assist with light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry and tidying up
– Accompany individuals to appointments and outings
– Provide companionship and emotional support

– Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required
– Knowledge of basic caregiving techniques and principles
– Ability to follow instructions and work independently
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Full job description

Responsibilities:
– Provide personal care and support to elderly individuals in a compassionate and respectful manner
– Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
– Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
– Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
– Assist with mobility and transfers, using proper lifting techniques and assistive devices
– Plan and prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding if necessary
– Engage in meaningful conversations and provide emotional support to residents
– Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents

Experience:
– Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Care Assistant in a senior care setting
– Knowledge of elderly care practices and principles
– Familiarity with common medical conditions affecting the elderly, such as dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and mobility issues
– Ability to effectively communicate with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals
– Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
– Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
